Dear Wolfpack,
Welcome back! Now returning for its 8th inaugural year, the Wolfington Post will continue its legacy of providing top-tier articles on WPGA school life, student culture, and current events. As always, we strive to create content that aligns with our motto: for students, by students, and we hope to present an authentic perspective that caters to you.
Following tradition, here’s our annual “Welcome Back” guide to life at WPGA, relevant to new and old students alike:
Communication
Read the Daily Announcements (DA) for schedule changes, uniform requirements, lost/found items, service announcements, admin updates, and upcoming school events. Add yourself to the DA mailing list by adding your email to the “digital” section of your Wolfnet profile.
Follow @WPGAstudentlife on Instagram to keep up with relevant news and student opportunities (and for timely reminders about ceremonial uniform days).
Student Council
At WPGA, we have five student councils:
- Arts
- Athletics
- Service
- Spirit & Wellness (Swellness)
- Environmental Sustainability
Each council has two elected representatives per grade. Arts, Swellness, Athletics meetings can only be attended by their elected representatives, whereas Service and Environmental Sustainability are open councils, meaning anyone can attend their meetings.
To apply for council, please click here. Council applications are due on September 12th.
Clubs
WPGA has a variety of clubs for a variety of people. Most hold meetings at lunch or after school.
Popular clubs include:
- Debate/MUN
- Quiz Club
- Business Club
- Philosophy Club
- Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
- Wolfington Post
- Board Games Club
The best way to scout out and join clubs is by attending the Clubs Fair at lunch on September 11th. For a comprehensive list of last year’s active clubs, please click here.
Lunch Off-Campus
There are lots of places to go for lunch off-campus. Popular spots include, in order of proximity to WPGA:
- Subway: Cheap, tasty, and customizable. Expect a line.
- Little Umbrella:Baked goods and stellar sandwiches. Expect a line.
- Riceburger: Used to be the spot for WPGA students. Still lives up to the hype. No line, but further away.
- Pizza Hut: Classic pizza. Might need to sprint there and back, as it’s the furthest on this list.
Other, less lunch-specific spots that are frequented by WPGA students include:
- The gas station: For Celcius, Red Bull, or Monster Energy, depending on personal taste and the urgency of your upcoming exam(s). Lots of candy and snacks too, for staying after school in Lu’s room to make up late quizzes.
- Burgoo: Also possible for lunch, but it’d have to be an extended lunch, as Burgoo is a proper sit-down restaurant. Otherwise, good for hanging out between regular dismissal and school events later in the evening.
- Bubble Tea Place: After YiFang shut down, this new bubble tea place opened up. Cheap and good quantity. Downside is that it isn’t open during lunch hours.
Wolfington Post Updates
Your 2025-2026 Wolfington Post executive team will feature co-editors-in-chief Ann Wang and Greyson Tang, alongside managing editor Annie Wagner.
This year, Wolfington Post will be releasing limited print editions that will be accessible in various locations around the school. We’ll also offer suggested bimonthly themes and related article ideas, which will help new and experienced Wolfington Post members brainstorm and work around writer’s block. These themes will be Change, Identity, Community, Growth, and Legacy. We hope that by sticking to a more traditional and down-to-earth approach, we’ll be able to foster a unique and creative environment for our members this year.
To sum up our aspirations for this year, here’s a cool and insightful quote from Wolfington Post’s teacher sponsor and longtime esteemed columnist, Mr. Lu.
“Sometimes we try to make things cool and insightful, but life is just life.”
That said- welcome back. We hope you’ll enjoy the 2025-2026 school year.
