Beloved member of the Wolfpack, Ella Vardi ‘26, is off to Cuernavaca, Mexico February 28th, and she is ecstatic!
As a part of WPGA’s Gateway Exchange program, Ella has been patiently awaiting the day of takeoff to Cuernavaca, capital city of Morelas, since saying a short goodbye to her exchange buddy, Tamara, on February 13th.
In our exclusive interview, Ella told us she was most excited to “meet lots of new people, especially Tamara’s friends.” Moreover, she’s looking forward to trying the abundance of delicious, mouthwatering food Cuernavaca has to offer, including tacos and Israeli cuisine at Tamara’s family friend’s restaurant.
Aside from this, Ella is hoping to improve her Spanish language skills extensively, since she will be speaking Spanish just about exclusively all day, every day. Although she is looking mpre forward to the trip every minute as it nears, she is slightly apprehensive about the language barrier in a classroom environment, although we’re sure she’ll do just fine.
To prepare, Ella is beginning to pack her suitcase with all she’ll need for a whole month away from home, saying a temporary goodbye to all her friends, and making sure to create a plan with teachers to keep up with schoolwork (sadly, it’s not all fun and games).
Everyone, wish Ella a great trip, and we will keep you updated on her fun adventures in Cuernavaca, Mexico soon!
