Dear WPGA,
We hope you are doing well. You might have been pinned with a kindness clip for the past week, or seen students during recess handing out gummy worms in the lobby.
These are the initiatives by the Wellness Council this year. With lots to offer, the council however has one big goal: a year-long happiness project.
The WPGA Happiness Project assigned a theme to each month. The goal is to promote student wellness and hopefully to reduce some stress of the school environment.
October was Acts of Kindness. The Wellness council handed out gummy worms and kindness clips to cheer up everyone’s day. November is Mindfulness. This month, expect another round of gummy worms and a DoodleArt workshop during lunch on November 22nd in room 112. Take the opportunity to slow down in our fast-paced lives to doodle away.
Looking ahead, December will be the month of Self-Care. Expect a healthy dose of gummy worms during the recess of December 6th. Finally, for the last event of 2023, we will be doing a hot chocolate decorating session during lunch on December 13th.
As we cross over to the new year, January will be about making Connections. On the days when winter melts away and spring starts to blossom, we will be distributing gummy worms on January 17th and a special wristband-making/Adam’s Apples Connection lunch on January 31st.
From February and beyond, we will have a wide variety of events based on different themes. We hope to see you there and join us for meetings on Thursday lunches in room 112.
Warm regards,
Your Wellness Prefects, Julia & Henry
